Embracing The Ick on Linkedin

Tuesday, 12 May 2026

We all use it, at varying levels – from lurker to oversharer. We all know we should be using LinkedIn more, but what should we be posting?

Embracing the Ick on LinkedIn

The ‘ick’ is a term commonly used to describe a sudden feeling of discomfort or repulsion. It can arise in the early stages of a romantic relationship. Or when on LinkedIn.

In this interactive workshop, Adam Driver, founder of Authentic Comms, will help you to improve your LinkedIn confidence, and learn to embrace the ick.

Adam is a trained journalist and has 20 years of experience across copywriting, PR, digital marketing, SEO, social media and customer service. He has a dog, two children and a wife (in that order), likes cycling and beer, and supports Brentford and the Mighty Imps.

Tips and tricks to embrace the ick

Adam will walk you through an introduction to the platform, sharing tips, tricks and hints you may not be aware of, helping you maximise your current presence, and making the most out of your time on the platform, whatever you or your teams’ goals.

Topics covered include:

• LinkedIn vs other platforms

• Optimising your profile page

• Why do I need an All-Star account?

• Posts vs Articles

• Content ideas: what should I write about?

• Tagging (# and @)

• Groups, Companies and Showcases

• LinkedIn advertising

Doors open at 12:00 for lunch followed by Adam’s talk and Q&A at 12:30.
