In the spotlight with Dan Clark from MindJam

What do you find beneficial about working in Mosaic?

The whole feel of Mosaic fits us perfectly - it is relaxed and friendly whilst also being a state-of-the-art digital hub where like-minded businesses can come together and connect.

Where do you see yourself and your business in the next 5 years?

Since starting MindJam during the pandemic, it has quickly grown to 90 mentors supporting over 2000 young people all over the world. The next 5 years will see us continuing to expand in the UK, US and Australia, to be able to support every young person that needs us.

We will be growing our charity side, MindJam Community, which will focus on supporting neurodivergent families in the community with access to counselling, technology, events and opportunities.

We will also expand our services to offer training for schools and health professionals on how to utilise gaming and game design to help reconnect with young people.

What has been your biggest challenge so far?

Getting schools, local authorities and parents to recognise the benefits of gaming, how to use it to connect with young people and how it can lead to developing amazing digital skills, friendships and future opportunities. We are proud to be an approved provision for many local authorities around the country and we work closely with the NHS and many schools and specialist provisions.

Tell me about your biggest success so far.

The testimonials from the young people and their families are wonderful and heartwarming to read - to know we are making such a difference to so many lives is definitely our biggest success. Also, being part of BAFTA's Young Game Designers initiative is pretty cool too!

Any advice?

Do what you love and are passionate about, and make your job an extension of who you are, your beliefs and your interests. If your perfect job doesn't exist, create it!
