It’s that time again, where companies are planning their Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, with only a couple of days to go, if you haven’t already thought about your sales, then you need to be!

From a business perspective, Black Friday is the perfect opportunity to get your business in front of new customers. This year has been yet another strange year with the global pandemic still around, but don’t let that stop you from creating high-quality campaigns for your business.

We have put together some top tips for optimising your website ready for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, let’s take a look…

Make Your Decisions Early

Ideally, you should have already picked the products you are going to use by now, but if you haven’t then we definitely recommend using today to choose them. Take a look at the products that did the best last Black Friday and this will give you inspiration on what products to choose.

Optimise Product Pages

Once you have decided what products you will be using for your Black Friday sales, you need to make sure they are fully optimised. We recommend using seasonal keywords such as “Black Friday Sale” and “Christmas Gifts” as this will help promote what the sale is as well as your keyword rankings.

Use Marketing Materials

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are both amazing opportunities to create your “best ever sale”. Just think, once your customers are on your website they are more likely to look at other products and purchase those too.

We highly recommend using email marketing to promote your sales. Always focus on the best sale item to entice them to your store and then they can have a look round the rest of the website.

Other marketing opportunities include:

  • Product bundles
  • Adding “game” elements to your offer
  • Time-sensitive deals

Of course, once you have got the customers on your website, you need to then make sure they stay. For instance, using free shipping on orders, seasonal bundles or recommended products can help customers stay on the website for longer and purchase.

Remarketing

If you are not using remarketing in your business, we ask you, WHY? Remarketing is so effective as you are able to retarget past visitors to your website. You can do this based on their intent, the product page they visited and whether they put that product in the basket. We recommend using remarketing because it allows you to share your Black Friday offer with people who may have forgotten about your sale.

The above are just a few tips to help you optimise your marketing campaign for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The biggest bit of advice we can give you, is choose the most relevant to your business, don’t try and do it all if you know it's not going to work!!!
